Desk Based Exercises for Students

 How often do you sit?  Sitting to eat, watch tv, relax and even while driving all of these behaviours you can modify but what if your academic or career demands that you sit at a desk all day, is this out of your control.

 Workshops are suitable for all abilities.  Spaces are limited therefore booking is recommended to guarantee your space.  All workshops are delivered by exercise prescription practitioners registered with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity. Positive Health is a Lincoln based charity whose aim is to provide confidential information and support to people infected and affected with HIV and AIDS.

As a University in a city surrounded by cycle tracks, the Reward team provide multiple options to both staff and students of cycle based benefits. These include the Cycle2Work Scheme, Hire Bike Scheme and Campus Bikes. The University Cycle Stand will provide information on these schemes throughout the day.

Mindfulness in Practice

Take a moment to pause this week and attend this session to practice Mindfulness.

The session will dedicate the first 30 minutes to guided mindfulness meditation, followed by another optional 15-20 minutes of questions, discussion, and further development of personal practice.

Mindfulness is often described as 'being aware of the present moment without wishing it were different'. It is a simple practice that can enable you to discover much more about yourself and how you respond to the stresses and strains of life, especially when things are busy, you're under pressure or you just need a little space in your thoughts and your day.
